A Testimony of Miracle Healing - A Note from Dr. Christian Wei

Dear Beloved brothers and sisters:

On June 2, 2022 around noon, Christian got a sharp pain in his chest.  He was immediately rushed to the ER. Soon he was diagnosed the heart aortic dissection and need immediate surgery, according to the doctors in Saipan. But they cannot do it in Saipan, so we need to fly out to Philippine for the surgery. On June 5, we arrived in Manila, Philippine with the emergency ambulance airplane, and the after all the checkup, we were told the surgery will be on June 7 (Monday) noon Philippine time, the doctor said the success rate is probably 25%.

After several days of discussions and evaluations, the doctors in St Luke Medical Center suggested not to have the heart surgery for the time being due to the danger of the operation. They would like to observe the development of the situation first.

The first CT scan in Saipan showed that there was a Type A aortic dissection. However, the leaking of the blood soon stopped after the blood pressure was controlled. The second CT scan in Manila showed that he also had a Type B aortic intramural hematoma (blood leaking through the innermost layer of the aortic wall). If the aortic wall of that section had burst, it would have resulted in a Type B dissection, which may cause his life. After nine days, a third CT scan revealed that the hematoma had shrunk and dried up. Thus, the final verdict was that he would not need an open-heart surgery but would instead follow a more conservative approach to healing.

The news went to different countries and many brothers and sisters were praying for Christian’s healing. On June 14, after the third CT scan, the medical team decided that healing has already happening and no need for the surgery.  Dr. Kuizon who is the leader of the team originally insisted for an open-heart operation and determined it will not heal itself. But then on June 17, when Christian transfer from ICU to the regular hospital room, Dr. Kuizon admitted some mystery things happened. We knew it is God’s miracles.

We are deeply grateful for everyone’s prayers. Christian’s two aortic dissections have already stabilized. God has miraculously turned the situation toward a positive direction. The first Type A dissection has not worsened but has instead automatically formed a scab. The second Type B dissection formed a hematoma that dried up by itself. The attending cardiologist happily exclaimed, “Not having the surgery was the right decision because the failure rate of surgery is very high; this [situation] is a mystery.” At first, he had advocated for surgery, but the cardiac surgeon insisted that surgery was not needed and that the dissection could heal.

As matter of fact, just a minute before Christian’s dissection occurred, he was preparing for a sermon: Psalm 30:2, “O Lord my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me.” God had already known what would occur. Thinking back on these past three weeks, every day was God’s grace. Every day was an experience of God. Every day was held up by the prayers of brothers and sisters.

On June 21 at 7:00 pm, we took the shuttle bus to Manila International airport. The Lord helped us to check in without any problems. We waited until 9:30 pm to board the plane. Praise the Lord, we are going home. The doctors wanted Christian to carefully control the blood pressure.  They admitted that they had no explanation why the heart and dissections had healed. The doctors can only share what had happened. We believe it is a miracle from the Lord.  About the long-term health care, the doctors would like me to have regular exam of my heart condition. Judy and I have a plan to check regularly from now on. We also will change some schedule and will slow down a little bit. Words fail to express my sincere thanksgiving to all of you. Through your prayers and supplication, the Lord answered and healed Christian. Looking forward to seeing you soon in the near future to praise our wonderful Lord together.

Love in Christ,

Christian and Judy Wei
